Welcome to Group 8's Strategy Project 2008

Our group used American football as an analogy for business. We used football to illustrate the power of systems thinking as a tool for strategy formulation. We then repeated the process, explicitly, for business. Our efforts show that the complexities of strategy can be taught using examples, such as football, other sports, music, art, or whatever imagery presents itself as a widely known frame of reference to a particular audience. The concepts explored, when placed in everyday language, make relating strategy to the business environment significantly easier to learn.

The analogy and approach presented here lends itself to teaching strategy within a time-constrained curriculum, such as those typically experienced in corporate strategy work sessions or breakaways.
